Creating a Youtube video without using music, videos, or pictures that are copyrighted?
I want to enter a video contest that might be posted on youtube, and I need to use video, music, and pictures from places online and from iTunes. Will it be illegal to use anything that isn’t mine from the internet that’s available to the public? Are there any websites that sell media that is royalty free, or should I just add a “thanks” blibliography section at the end of the video to thank those resources?
Thank you so much!!
Don’t do the thing at the end
normally they don’t care if it’s just a random video you made with other people’s clips, though it’s copyrighted, BUT if it’s for a competition they may think differently.
If you actually have to use other’s clips for the competition ask their permission there are normally ways you can contact people to ask.
If you google there are loads of royalty free clips but you have to pay for them ![]()
There used to be a Creative Archive Licence group but they got rid of it but you can still use some clips for free:

Check the licenses of what you want to use, sometimes you can use them for mash-ups and creative things. ![]()
Why not shoot some of your own clips?
good luck.
