Why is Universal Music Group not listed on NYSE, or NASDAQ or any stock exchange?
Sony is the second largest recording company (the largest being Universal Music Group) but it is on NYSE (NYSE: SME)
So is Universal Music Group on the listings of any stock exchange? If yes, which one is it on, and what is its stock symbol? If not, then why not?

Thank you SOOOO much!!

  1. Sandy says:

Universal Music Group is a subsidiary of the French media conglomerate, Vivendi SA, with activities in music, television and film, publishing, telecommunications, the Internet, and video games. It used to be listed on the NYSE when it was known as Vivendi Universal, but was delisted in 2006 due to low trading volumes and increasingly high costs. Vivendi Universal disclosed a corporate loss of €23.3 billion in its 2002 annual report; the worst loss to date for a French company. It is now not listed anywhere.
