   creative commons is a newer form of copyright. lots of artists who believe in releasing work for the benefit of society have licensed their work to be used. some can be used for commercial purposes and other's for non-profit purposes only.

   also, the artists can decide how you use their work [wholesale, derivative, etc.] so look around and see what you find. hope this helps!
