I received a CD of music from my job, no information of artist / author. ¿I can use for a production company?
I work in a hospital, but I'm trying to start a video production company. As a free employee appreciation gifts, everyone received a CD generic hospital's logo, which is full of relaxing music. The only thing on the CD's song titles, but nothing more. No artist / band, not information is anysort. ¿I can consider this "free" music for use in my next production and no information is given to the possibility I buy it? Inserting new has logo, and "we value our employees," The back of the CD shows song titles, but nothing more. No artist / band, no information of anysort. ¿I can consider this "free" music for use in my next production, as no information is purchased, possibly, the rights use in production?
You can not assume that the public domain / free. Your hospital probably shares paid a fee to play, and you can not take advantage of that license. Since you are starting a video production company, which no doubt know there are many tracks of audio file are available to buy – with unlimited use rights as part of a package or a pay per use (which you can then pass on to their customers). Do not fall into the trap of thinking that just because there is no (c) on the disk that is not copyrighted. That is not the law in the U.S. more, and has been at least 50 years. if you make a production very great that note, the creator of the audio track can come later … and your customer!
