Help With a Voiceover Demo?
I want to do a voiceover demo & I was advised I should have a commercial and a narrative demo & I’m wondering if there is anywhere I can download copy or a script for each. And is there any place I can get royalty-free music to use in the background ?
You can do a lot better than just downloading some script to do it. After all, you don’t want the same script that’s on several other VO demos, do you?
Find a commercial on the radio that you’ve heard that you felt would sound good with your voice. Record it and transcribe it, but change the name of the business. That’s your commercial one.
There are plenty of business oriented videos on YouTube and on web sites all over the place. Check for hospitals and other niche businesses. Transcribe about a minute of one of those.
Your demos don’t need to be more than a minute each.

As far as the music…your best bet is to purchase a cut from a site that sells royalty-free music for the commercial. You don’t need music behind the narration demo.
