What does Music labels earn by showing music videos free on youtube?
While streaming services are suffering because the labels want more money from music streaming, the labels them self are putting music videos up on youtube for free.
It’s just as easy to use a playlist on youtube as using most streaming services, so why are they doing it?
Justin Bieber’s “Baby” has been played 520.858.110 times, thats what we call a shitload of money.
My best guess is publicity.
It maybe possible for you to use a youtube playlist but you cant really download those songs and play them in your car or as easily on an MP3 player (Ipod for example.) You also cannot access your youtube playlist without internet access.
The publicity it builds outweighs the loss from the few people who use youtube as a streaming service.
