Vocal Removing Program for music? Free? Help!?
I have a song that i need to remove vocals from, but it’s very tricky because there are background vocals to it. It’s “let it be” from the across the universe soundtrack. Does anyone know of a program that can cut the vocals completely? i need it ASAP because it’s for a pageant in two weeks!
if you have something and would be willing to help me out i can email you the music file! my email is ford2010@ymail.com
Thank you so much!
i tied downloading the vocaloid and i couldn’t…and it’s for adding lyrics to music isn’t it? that was my understanding reading about it
Because of the way the process works and the way the track was mixed in the studio it is highly unlikely you can remove the vocal completely.
The process removes any audio as data which is exactly in the center of the mix.
The only way to completely remove vocals is with the original multi-track studio recording and the program it was recorded with.
You can try removing the vocal with Audacity but a perfect result can’t be guaranteed with this or any other vocal remover program.
If you intend to burn the track to disk export and save it as a wav file.
Burned in wav (music CD) format it will play on any player, new or old.

Method:
This is possible only for certain stereo tracks. When the vocals are exactly the same on both stereo channels, you can remove them by “subtracting” one channel from the other. This works for many studio recordings, where the vocal track is mixed exactly in the center.
Be aware that bass and drums are usually in the center of the mix and could be removed or reduced also. A computer reads the vocal as data, likewise with bass and drums. Unlike our ears it can’t tell the difference.
To do this in Audacity 1.2.6:
1. Import your stereo file into Audacity.
2. Open the track menu (click the arrow next to the track title), and choose “Split Stereo Track.”
3. Select the lower track (the right channel) by clicking it in the area around the mute/solo buttons.
4. Choose “Invert” from the Effects menu.
5. Using the track menus, change each track to “Mono.”
Press the Play button to hear the results. If you are lucky, the voice will be gone but most of the other instruments will be unaffected, just like a karaoke track. You can use the Export commands in the File menu to save the results.
Audacity 1.3.7 beta.
Open the song in the program
Click, hold and drag to highlight the whole song or “Edit/Select/All” then select “vocal remover” from the effects menu.
Export and save from the file menu.
